Gwadar Port Authority, Suez Canal Authority going for an MoU

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Egypt discussed a joint working arrangement and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Gwadar Port Authority and the Suez Canal Authority on Friday.
H E Tarek Dahrough, Egyptian Ambassador, met with Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs.
Minister Zaidi also discussed his vision for Gwadar Port, as well as how Pakistan and Egypt would benefit from each other’s experience in the maritime sector.

The Suez Canal is one of the world’s largest and busiest canals.
The Suez Canal links the Mediterranean Sea’s Port Said with the Indian Ocean through the Red Sea’s Egyptian city of Suez, allowing for a direct shipping connection between Europe and Asia.
Every day, over 50 vessels pass through the canal, carrying a total of $10 billion in freight.
The ambassador has been invited to visit Gwadar by Zaidi.
